Stratomaster XTreme
Welcome to preliminary information on our new panel mount EFIS.
It's a PFD, it's an engine monitor, it's a GPS navigator - it's exactly what you want !
This low cost unit is based on a 4.2" sunlight readable, wide viewing angle, high resolution LCD display. It integrates SD card reader, funtion buttons, rotary control, display and a 65 channel high performance GPS system.
Able to connect to standard MGL Avionics sensors (engine monitor units (RDAC), AHRS like SP-4 and SP-5 and compass SP-2 it also integrates a CAN Aerospace compatible communications interface which will be used in furture versions of MGL sensors. Standard RS232 ports are also available. The XTreme is designed to fit a standard 3.5" round instrument hole. The body is located off-center allowing the unit to replace instruments on the right side of a standard 6-pack configuration or any other location that currently occupies two instruments.
Due to the light weight and very low mounting depth no complicated mounting brackets or trays are needed. Power use is low and operation from much less than 12V to around 28V is fully supported without further items required.
The XTreme breaks new ground in current experimental EFIS technology as it is a universal platform and can run many different application programs much like you can do on a PC. This means that functionality is not fixed to what you have at the time of purchase - upgrades to existing application programs or entirely new ones extending the area of functionality into new regions are in the future offering for this remarkable, highly flexible unit.
Availability in production quantities is scheduled for 3rd to 4th quarter of 2009.
